Temenos Core Banking and Payments Lead

Expert in Large-Scale Migration, Integration, and Regulatory Compliance

The Temenos Core Banking and Payments Lead will play a pivotal role in driving large-scale migration and integration programs within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This position requires deep expertise in Temenos Core Banking (versions R18 through R25), with a strong emphasis on solutioning, regulatory compliance, and third-party integrations. The ideal candidate brings a proven record of technical leadership in both core banking and payments domains, alongside hands-on experience working with the Saudi payments ecosystem, including MADA and other regulatory/third-party platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the technology and solution lead for Temenos Core Banking and Payments implementations, upgrades, integrations, and large migration programs, especially within the KSA banking sector.

Design scalable and compliant solutions on Temenos Core Banking (preferably R25, but R18-R24 experience welcome), ensuring seamless integration with existing and new applications.

Lead the end-to-end migration efforts of Temenos Core Banking from version R18 to R23 or higher, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and full alignment with regulatory expectations.

Collaborate closely with application owners, architecture teams, and business stakeholders to craft robust, future-proof integration strategies for Temenos solutions.

Drive integration with Saudi payments network (MADA), SADAD, SARIE, and other regulatory and third-party networks, ensuring strict adherence to local compliance and security standards.

Oversee and assure the implementation of all KSA regulatory requirements across the payments and core banking landscape, including but not limited to SAMA mandates, AML, KYC, and data localization.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers, developers, and business analysts working on Temenos-related initiatives.

Participate in workshops, solution reviews, and governance forums with vendors, regulators, and banking partners.

Produce high-quality documentation, architectural artifacts, and regulatory submissions as needed throughout the migration and integration lifecycle.

Continuously monitor technology trends and regulatory changes in KSA, proactively updating solution designs and integration approaches.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in Temenos Core Banking, with deep solutioning and technical leadership roles in versions R18 through R25.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale Temenos migration programs, ideally involving migration from R18 to R23 or higher.
  • Hands-on experience integrating with Saudi payments network (MADA), SADAD, SARIE, and other third-party or regulatory platforms common in GCC.
  • Comprehensive understanding of GCC regulatory and compliance requirements for banking and payments, including SAMA guidelines, AML, KYC, and data protection.
  • Expertise in architectural design, application integration, and end-to-end solution delivery for banking environments.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Prior experience working in Middle East as a technology lead or solution architect is mandatory.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate technical teams under tight deadlines and evolving business priorities.
  • Certification in Temenos or recognized relevant platforms is a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with cloud-based Temenos deployments and open API integrations.
  • Fluency in Arabic or significant exposure to GCC banking culture and regulatory landscape.
  • Project management certification (PMP, Prince2, Agile) is desirable.
  • Experience with digital banking, mobile payments, and emerging fintech trends within the GCC.
