Tendering & Estimation Engineer (ELV, BMS, Fire, IBMS, MEP)

Job Summary

The Tendering & Estimation Engineer will bring a strong technical and commercial acumen to the preparation of techno-commercial proposals. The focus is on projects involving system integration, fire safety systems, ELV systems (CCTV, access control, Public Address (PA)), automation, Building Management Systems (BMS), electrical, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) projects.

This role requires the analysis of project drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), technical specifications, and client requirements to prepare accurate and competitive proposals for both government and private sector projects. The Engineer will collaborate closely with the design, procurement, and project teams to ensure reliable cost forecasting and implement value engineering principles.

Education

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic Engineering or a related field.

Key Responsibilities

1. Estimation and Costing

  • Study technical drawings, BOQs, RFPs/RFQs, and specifications to thoroughly understand project scope and requirements.
  • Prepare detailed cost sheets, rate analysis, and BOQs for:
  • Fire alarm and fire fighting systems.
  • CCTV, access control, and communication systems.
  • Building automation and control (BMS/IBMS).
  • Electrical and MEP systems.
  • Break down material, labor, and service costs, source subcontractor quotes, and compile complete costing sheets.
  • Factor in logistics, overheads, statutory charges, and applicable taxes into the final pricing.

2. Tender/Bid/Proposal Preparation

  • Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals for tenders and RFQs (government & private).
  • Ensure all submissions meet tender compliance requirements, including pre-qualification documents, mandatory formats, vendor registrations, and annexures.
  • Prepare deviation/justification documents where necessary.
  • Work with Business Development (BD), design, and project teams to compile complete bid packages and align the tender strategy, ensuring timely submission.

3. Vendor and Material Coordination

  • Liaise with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and technical offers.
  • Evaluate multiple vendor options for cost, availability, compliance, and delivery timelines.
  • Maintain a cost database of materials, services, and subcontractor rates.
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering.

4. Technical/Commercial Evaluation

  • Analyze client requirements or consultant discussions and suggest optimized or value-engineered solutions.
  • Conduct pre-bid technical reviews with internal stakeholders (design, procurement, execution) for accurate inputs.
  • Analyze client feedback, update costing assumptions, and optimize margins accordingly.

5. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain estimation records for all projects, including cost breakdowns, assumptions, and supplier rates.
  • Prepare project cost comparisons and revise estimates based on updated information.
  • Generate periodic estimation reports and bid-win analysis.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Deep understanding of ELV (Extra Low Voltage), CCTV, Fire Fighting, Fire Alarm, MEP, and BMS systems.
  • Excellent reading of drawings, specifications, and BOQs (Bills of Quantities).
  • Knowledge of IS/NBC/NFPA/IEC standards.
  • Proficient in Excel, AutoCAD, PDF editing tools, and specialized Estimation tools.
  • Exposure to Government tender platforms (CPWD, GeM).

Preferred Background

  • Candidates from System Integration, MEP Contracting, or Automation firms with experience working on large-scale projects like Smart Cities, Airports, Hospitals, Data Centers, High-rise buildings, etc.
  • Experience in dealing with clients such as PWD, CPWD, NBCC, PSUs, and private developers/consultants.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to ₹600,000.00 per year
