Job Summary:

The Transportation Senior Coordinator and Trainer is responsible for overseeing day-to-day transportation operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with company and regulatory standards. The role also includes developing and delivering training programs for drivers, coordinators, and logistics personnel to promote high operational standards and continuous improvement within the transportation department.

Key Responsibilities:

Transportation Coordination:

- Supervise and coordinate daily transportation activities including vehicle scheduling, routing, and dispatching.

- Monitor fleet performance and ensure optimal utilization of vehicles and drivers.

- Manage trip planning, delivery schedules, and ensure timely, safe, and cost-effective transport operations.

- Coordinate maintenance schedules and ensure all vehicles meet safety and operational standards.

- Maintain communication between drivers, clients, and management to resolve logistical issues promptly.

- Prepare transportation reports, fuel consumption data, and KPI analyses for management review.

Training & Development:

- Develop, implement, and evaluate training programs for new and existing drivers and coordinators.

- Conduct safety, defensive driving, customer service, and compliance training sessions.

- Maintain up-to-date training records and ensure adherence to company policies and transportation regulations.

- Identify skill gaps and propose tailored training or retraining initiatives.

- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across the transportation team.

Compliance & Safety:

- Ensure full compliance with local transportation laws, company policies, and health & safety regulations.

- Conduct periodic audits and safety inspections of vehicles and drivers.

- Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and violations, recommending corrective measures.

- Support ISO or other quality management system audits related to transportation operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

-Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

-Minimum 5–8 years of experience in transportation or fleet coordination, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

-Proven experience in driver training, safety programs, or instructional design preferred.

-Strong knowledge of transport regulations, vehicle maintenance, and route optimization.

-Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

-Proficiency in MS Office and fleet management software (e.g., GPS tracking systems, dispatch tools).

-Valid driver’s license (preferably heavy vehicle license if applicable).
