Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a minimum of 1 year of experience for a night shift position covering a full-service hospital including ICU, Open Heart, NICU, and a trauma ED in Georgia.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting covering all floors, including a 30-bed ICU, 25-bed Open Heart unit, 25-bed NICU, and a 47-bed/5-trauma bay ED
  • Patient population spans neonates to geriatrics
  • Clinical skills required include ventilator management, BiPAP management, medicated aerosol treatments, open heart respiratory care, intubation, ABG draws and analysis, CPT, nitric oxide therapy, and COVID patient management
  • EMR: Epic (required); ventilator experience required with Servo I, GE, Hamilton, and PB840
  • Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
  • Every other weekend rotation required
  • Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active RRT credential required
  • Active Georgia (GA) state RT license required — license required if applicable
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
  • Experience with Epic EMR required
  • Hands-on experience with Servo I, GE, Hamilton, and PB840 ventilators required
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
  • Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration
  • Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration

Additional Information

  • Scrub color policy: any color is acceptable except all-red or all-navy blue outfits
  • RTO maximum of 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
  • Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work those holidays with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of them and may request one holiday off
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
  • No special scheduling or shift change requests are permitted — the listed night shift is firm
  • Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of one full year before returning as a traveler
  • Local candidates are accepted for this position
