American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a variable shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, with experience in acute care and Epic required.
-
Short-term acute care hospital setting with 248 staffed beds, designated as a Level II Trauma Center
-
Works across multiple units including the ER, ICU, Labor and Delivery, Pediatrics, and Medical Floors
-
Common patient cases include COPD, shortness of breath (SOB), sepsis, and asthma
-
Equipment used includes Draeger, V60, Vapotherm, and Hamilton T-1 ventilators
-
Charting is done in Epic; 1 year of Epic experience required
-
Variable shift schedule — predominantly nights (6:30 PM–6:30 AM) with occasional day shifts (6:30 AM–6:30 PM) based on unit need
-
Day shift coverage is typically scheduled after a stretch of days off, followed by approximately 1–2 weeks on days before transitioning back to nights
-
3x12-hour shifts per week

No on-call requirement

No formal float requirement, though clinicians work across ER, ICU, Labor and Delivery, Peds, and Medical Floors as needed

Active RRT credential required prior to start

Active Washington State Respiratory Care Practitioner (WA RCP) license required prior to start; license required if applicable

Active certifications required: ACLS and PALS
-
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist required; 2 years preferred
-
Minimum 1 year of Epic experience required
-
Minimum 2 years of acute care RT experience preferred
-
Minimum 1 year of experience in a pulmonary function lab preferred
-
Experience in ICU, Pediatrics, or Obstetrics preferred
-
2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
-
Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

All certifications must be active at time of consideration

Scrubs may be any color or pattern; scrubs are provided in the OR

Washington caregivers employed as of 6/29/2014 who are licensed RCPs but not registry-eligible due to the educational requirement may be grandfathered for the RRT requirement
