Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and results-driven Sales Executive to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales growth by identifying new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and promoting our comprehensive transportation and logistics solutions. Responsibilities
- Actively seek out and develop new sales opportunities within the transportation, logistics, and supply chain sectors.
- Present and demonstrate our transportation management systems, including Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine, to prospective clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by understanding their freight, shipping & receiving, and fleet management needs.
- Conduct detailed analysis of client requirements related to GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS (Global Positioning System), transportation planning, and dispatching processes to recommend optimal solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized proposals that incorporate freight management, 3PL (Third-Party Logistics), and shipping strategies.
- Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation through contract negotiation and closing deals.
- Maintain accurate data entry in CRM systems and other platforms such as AS400 and Oracle Transportation Management for tracking sales activities.
- Provide exceptional phone etiquette and communication skills during client interactions, ensuring clear understanding of services offered.
- Coordinate with dispatching teams to ensure seamless delivery schedules using multi-line phone systems and efficient routing strategies.
- Assist clients with logistics planning by leveraging analysis skills related to transportation management systems, fleet management, and shipping & receiving operations.
- Stay informed about industry trends in logistics, 3PL services, freight forwarding, and transportation technology advancements to better serve clients.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sales within transportation, logistics, or supply chain industries; familiarity with freight forwarding or 3PL services is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS technology, transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret data related to transportation planning and logistics operations.
- Proficiency in data entry using platforms like AS400 or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Experience with shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management software, dispatching processes, and freight coordination.
- Exceptional communication skills with professional phone etiquette across multi-line phone systems.
- Ability to effectively use typing skills for documentation and correspondence.
- Familiarity with transportation industry standards including supply chain management concepts and logistics best practices.
