Duties

• Coordinate and dispatch freight shipments by assigning loads to drivers based on delivery schedules, driver availability, and route optimization.
• Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), including ITS Dispatch system to track shipments, update statuses, and maintain accurate data entry records.
• Monitor drivers efficient routing and compliance with transportation planning standards.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, and clients via tracking applications, maintaining professional phone etiquette and clear messaging.
• Manage shipping & receiving schedules, coordinate freight pickup and delivery times, and handle any logistical issues that arise during transit.
• Maintain detailed documentation of dispatch activities, including logs for freight movements, incident reports, and shift reports.
• Support fleet management by tracking vehicle maintenance schedules and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience in dispatching within transportation or logistics environments.
• Strong analysis skills with transportation management systems for effective decision-making.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks professionally while providing exceptional customer service.
• Proficiency in data entry, typing accuracy, and using software such as ITS Dispatch Transportation Management, Excel.
• Knowledge of freight shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management practices, and supply chain logistics.
• Familiarity with transportation planning concepts including route optimization and supply chain coordination.

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
