Upholstery Build-Up Associate
RH is seeking an Upholstery Build-Up Associate to join our Dmitriy & Co manufacturing location in Los Angeles. This role requires exceptional technical expertise and a true passion for craftsmanship. The Upholstery Build-Up Associate will play a key part in bringing to life upholstery pieces that embody RH’s uncompromising standards of quality and design. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately review and follow purchase orders, providing timely progress updates to ensure workflow efficiency
- Apply upholstery build-up techniques and production standards with precision, ensuring each piece reflects our commitment to exceptional quality
- Expertly utilize hand tools and equipment, including staple guns, webbing stretchers, hammers, scissors, and select power tools, to assemble and build up upholstery pieces with precision
- Safely handle wood frames and materials, utilizing assistance when appropriate to maintain both safety and craftsmanship integrity
- Contribute to hand-sewing, specialty projects, and other tasks as needed, supporting innovation and excellence within the upholstery team
OUR REQUIREMENTS
- 1+ year of upholstery build-up experience in a production or workshop environment
- Proficiency in upholstery build-up techniques, including webbing, padding, and applying other materials
- Strong time management and communication skills, with a collaborative and service-oriented approach
- Balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision
- Uphold a commitment to quality, safety, and meticulous attention to detail
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequently lift and mobilize furniture and accessories in excess of 75 pounds while utilizing appropriate equipment and adhering to safety guidelines
- Frequent standing, sitting, and walking for prolonged periods
- Bend, twist, stretch, reach, stoop, climb, squat, kneel, push, and pull frequently
- Maneuver effectively around the workroom floor and loading docks
- Grasp, move, and assemble materials and products with hands
- Distinguish and evaluate differences in color, shade, and brightness
