Job Summary

The Upholstery Technician will specialize in repairing, restoring, and customizing vehicle interiors, including seats, dashboards, and trim, using high-quality materials and techniques to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal. This role requires hands-on expertise in upholstery work, attention to detail, and the ability to meet quality standards in a fast-paced garage environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect interiors to assess damage and recommend repairs or replacements.
• Remove, repair, or install components like seats, headliners, carpets, and panels.
• Select and apply fabrics, leathers, vinyls, and materials for aesthetic matching or enhancement.
• Use tools such as sewing machines, staples, adhesives, and cutters for precise work.
• Collaborate with teams to integrate upholstery with vehicle repairs.
• Maintain clean workspace and follow safety protocols.
• Ensure work meets quality standards and customer expectations.
• Stay current on automotive upholstery trends and techniques.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in automotive upholstery or fabrication; garage or dealership experience preferred.
• Knowledge of upholstery materials, tools, and techniques for vehicle interiors.
• Strong manual dexterity, detail orientation, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with safety standards and basic automotive systems.
• Valid driver's license and clean record preferred.
• High school diploma; technical certification advantageous.
• Independent and team-oriented.
