About the Role: Upwork Bidder & Business Development Executive (Upwork/Freelance Platforms)

We are looking for someone who wins qualified projects on Upwork and similar platforms by running a disciplined lead-to-deal process: targeted outreach, high-quality proposals, strong discovery, and tight handoff to delivery.

  • Role Overview:

Own end-to-end bidding and business development on Upwork (and optionally Fiverr/Freelancer/LinkedIn).
Create a predictable pipeline of qualified leads aligned with the agencys service offerings.
Convert leads into signed SOWs by coordinating discovery, estimates, and commercial terms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily account operations: identify relevant jobs, shortlist opportunities, and maintain bidding cadence.
  • Write tailored proposals (problem framing, approach, timeline, scope, assumptions) and prepare project briefs.
  • Run initial discovery: clarify goals, constraints, tech stack, success metrics, and budget/fit.
  • Coordinate with Tech Lead/founder for feasibility, estimates, and solution outlines for proposals.
  • Negotiate scope, pricing models (fixed vs hourly), milestones, and contract terms; drive to close.
  • Maintain CRM/trackers: lead stages, follow-ups, notes, next steps, and conversion metrics.
  • Optimize Upwork profile positioning, portfolio, project catalog, and proposal templates.
  • Monitor competitor activity and platform trends; refine positioning and messaging accordingly.
  • Ensure strong handoff to delivery: finalized requirements, acceptance criteria, and client expectations.
  • Upsell/cross-sell within accounts; maintain client relationships to increase LTV and referrals. Required Skills

Required Qualifications

  • Proven Upwork bidding and lead generation experience (agency or freelancer).
  • Excellent written English for proposals; strong persuasion and concise communication.
  • Discovery and qualification (asking the right questions, identifying red flags, budget-fit).
  • Basic understanding of web/software development lifecycle and common stacks (optional).
  • Sales operations discipline: follow-ups, pipeline hygiene, and reporting.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience selling AI/automation, integrations, dashboards, or SaaS builds.
  • Familiarity with tools: HubSpot, Pipedrive, Notion, Airtable, Google Sheets.
  • Proposal design skills (simple decks/one-pagers) and light technical writing.
  • Experience in outbound (LinkedIn/email) and partnerships. Work

Experience· 1–2+ years in Upwork bidding / BD / sales for software services. · Demonstrable track record: bids sent, replies, interviews, close rate, revenue won.

Shift Timing: Monday to Friday: 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
