Job Description – Senior Vendor Management & Team Lead
Department: Operations / Procurement / Supply Chain
Position: Senior Executive / Manager – Vendor Management
Reporting To: Operations Head / Management
Location: As per company requirement
Roles & Responsibilities:Vendor Management:
- Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage vendors and service providers
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and SLAs with vendors
- Ensure timely procurement, delivery, and quality compliance
- Maintain and update vendor database and documentation
- Resolve vendor issues, escalations, and disputes effectively
- Monitor vendor performance, compliance, and cost efficiency
- Coordinate with accounts for billing, invoicing, and payments
Team Handling & Leadership:
- Lead, guide, and supervise the vendor management / procurement team
- Allocate work, set priorities, and ensure smooth daily operations
- Train and mentor team members on processes and best practices
- Review team performance and provide regular feedback
- Act as an escalation point for team and vendor-related issues
Coordination & Reporting:
- Coordinate with projects, logistics, finance, and operations teams
- Prepare and present MIS reports related to vendors, costs, and performance
- Ensure adherence to company policies and compliance standards
Requirements:
- Graduate / Post-Graduate (preferred in Supply Chain, Operations, or Management)
- 5–8+ years of experience in vendor management / procurement
- Proven experience in team handling and leadership
- Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Good knowledge of procurement processes, contracts, and compliance
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and reporting
