Verification of Benefits (VOB)

Location: Bahria Town Phase 7, Rawalpindi (Preference for residents of Bahria, DHA, or nearby areas)

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to appointments or procedures.
• Obtain and confirm eligibility, co-pay, deductible, and co-insurance information from insurance providers.
• Accurately document and update patient insurance information in the EHR system.
• Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies to resolve coverage issues or discrepancies.
• Identify and report potential billing or coverage issues to the billing or revenue cycle team.
• Collaborate with the medical billing team to ensure accurate claim submission based on verified benefits.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements while handling sensitive patient information.
• Track and follow up on pending verifications to minimize claim denials.
• Assist in training and process improvement initiatives related to insurance verification workflows.

Qualifications/Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or certification in healthcare administration or medical billing preferred.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in insurance verification, benefits coordination, or medical billing.
• Strong knowledge of insurance policies, medical billing codes (CPT, ICD-10), and EHR systems.
• Proficient in using EHR software and other medical billing tools.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills for interacting with patients and insurance representatives.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to interpret insurance guidelines and explain benefits clearly to patients and internal teams.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and data privacy best practices.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and resolve coverage or billing discrepancies efficiently.

Timings

• 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM (Summer)
• 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM (Winters)
