Veterinary Receptionist

Overview
Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Receptionist and become the welcoming face of our animal care facility! This energetic role is vital in creating a positive experience for pet owners and ensuring smooth daily operations. As the first point of contact, you’ll coordinate appointments, manage client communications, and support the veterinary team with essential administrative tasks. Your enthusiasm, organizational skills, and love for animals will drive the success of our clinic and enhance pet care services.

Duties

  • Greet clients warmly and efficiently check in and out pets for appointments or procedures
  • Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar to optimize workflow
  • Collect payments, process medical billing, and handle documentation with accuracy
  • Answer phone calls promptly, providing clear information and directing inquiries appropriately
  • Maintain accurate medical records, update client files, and ensure confidentiality
  • Assist with inventory management of medical supplies, pet products, and kennel necessities
  • Support veterinary staff with basic animal handling tasks such as restraint or feeding when needed

Requirements

  • Previous experience in veterinary reception or customer service roles is preferred but not required; a passion for animal care is essential
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology, medical collection procedures, and laboratory processes is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with animal husbandry, kennel operations, or pet grooming enhances your ability to support the team effectively
  • Ability to handle animals safely using restraint techniques and animal handling skills including dog training or pet care experience
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with clients, team members, and external partners
  • Basic understanding of aseptic technique, laboratory procedures, and veterinary critical care concepts is a plus
