POSITION SUMMARY
The System Vice President of Quality, Patient Safety and Regulatory Compliance oversees and leads
the strategic direction, implementation and oversight of quality improvement, patient safety, regulatory
compliance across the Health First Integrated Delivery Network (IDN), ensuring the delivery of safe,
effective, and patient-centered care. Under the direction of the Senior Vice President, Chief Nursing
Executive, The System Vice President of Quality, Patient Safety and Regulatory Compliance directs a
comprehensive quality program encompassing all divisions across Health First achieving organization
goals of clinical excellence.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Develops and executes system wide quality, patient safety and regulatory compliance strategies
across the system, aligning initiatives with the mission, vision and regulatory requirements of the
organization
2. Oversees performance improvement programs and clinical quality metrics across the IDN,
promoting a culture of safety and zero harm.
3. Ensures compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
Services (CMS), and other accrediting bodies.
4. Oversees the submission, monitoring, and strategic planning for national publicly reported
ratings to ensure accurate representation of performance (CMS 5-Star, Leapfrog, National
clinical registries, etc.).
5. Leads preparation for regulatory readiness, including audits and surveys.
6. Works with division leadership in the implementation of strategic initiatives aiming to meet
organizational goals.
7. In collaboration with clinical leaders, medical staff leadership, physicians and front-line staff, will
design and implement training on quality improvement and patient safety best practices.
8. Collaborates with the Chief Quality Officer and Chief Nurse Executive to align the work of all
quality areas across the organization to achieve results.
9. Partners with and advises physician leaders such as campus Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO’s),
Medical Directors, elected medical staff and program directors to achieve organizational goals.
10. Holds direct and matrix leaders accountable for the execution to achieve clinical excellence and
organizational goals
1. Works together with clinical risk management, enterprise risk management and emergency
preparedness safety to achieve organizational goals for the delivery of safe, effective care.

organization, creating stronger buy-in and urgency, while understanding impact to the team to
obtain commitment.

organization’s goals.

associates.
6. Display strong strategic and financial acumen in areas of responsibility in alignment with the
organization's strategic objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(MPH), or a relevant field.
o Ability to develop and implement short- and long-term strategies that align departmental
goals with organizational priorities.
o Skilled in interpreting, analyzing, and leveraging data to inform decision-making, monitor
outcomes, and drive continuous improvement.
o Strong understanding of applicable healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and
compliance requirements, with the ability to apply them to daily operations and strategic
initiatives.
o Demonstrated ability to lead, collaborate, and build consensus across diverse
professional teams, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex
information clearly to associates, leaders, physicians, and external stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
o Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPQH) OR
o Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) OR
o Equivalent quality and/or safety certification.
