Position Overview
The Warehouse Head will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end warehouse and dispatch operations at a strategic level. This role is focused on process optimization, cost control, technology adoption, and overall efficiency enhancement, while ensuring that teams execute operations smoothly. The Warehouse Head will act as a key link between management and ground teams, driving continuous improvement and ensuring alignment with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Oversight
- Provide overall supervision of warehouse and dispatch functions.
- Ensure processes and SOPs are being followed effectively across receiving, storage, order processing, and dispatch.
- Review periodic operational reports and intervene where improvements are needed.
2. Process Optimization & Efficiency
- Identify gaps and bottlenecks in current warehouse and dispatch workflows.
- Implement best practices, automation, and system-driven solutions (ERP/WMS improvements).
- Optimize layout, manpower allocation, and dispatch planning for cost and time efficiency.
3. Vendor & Logistics Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with logistics partners and service providers.
- Negotiate contracts, rates, and service terms to reduce logistics costs.
- Evaluate partner performance and identify alternatives where needed.
4. Inventory Control & Audit
- Ensure accuracy of inventory by overseeing periodic cycle counts and audits.
- Monitor stock reporting and reconciliation between physical and system inventory.
- Establish strong controls to reduce pilferage, damages, and discrepancies.
5. Team Leadership & Governance
- Lead warehouse and dispatch managers/supervisors by setting clear expectations and KPIs.
- Mentor and develop middle management to ensure smooth ground-level execution.
- Establish a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
6. Compliance & Risk Management
- Oversee compliance with GST, e-way bills, and statutory documentation.
- Ensure safety standards, fire-fighting measures, and workplace hygiene are strictly followed.
- Mitigate risks related to logistics delays, stock discrepancies, or manpower issues.
7. Reporting & Business Alignment
- Review MIS reports on dispatch performance, inventory accuracy, and logistics cost.
- Align operational strategy with sales, retail, and eCommerce growth targets.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong background in warehouse and dispatch/logistics management at a leadership level.
- Expertise in process improvement, automation, and cost optimization.
- Strong commercial acumen and vendor negotiation skills.
- Ability to lead managers and ensure accountability.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience required in warehouse and dispatch/logistics management at a leadership level.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
