Primary Objective

We are seeking a detail-oriented Waste Management & Compliance Specialist who will be responsible for all regulatory, environmental, and health & safety compliance requirements of Mint Rewards' waste operations. This includes managing the acquisition of environmental licenses, preparing IEE/EIA reports, and developing and implementing health and safety plans.

This role is critical in ensuring Mint Rewards meets all legal, environmental, and operational standards required by federal, provincial, and municipal authorities in Pakistan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, submit, and manage all necessary documentation to acquire environmental licenses, permits, and approvals related to waste collection, transport, sorting, and storage.
  • Lead the preparation of Initial Environmental Examinations (IEE) and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) in accordance with SEPA, PEPA, and other relevant environmental regulatory bodies.
  • Design and implement comprehensive health and safety policies and SOPs for field and operational teams (e.g., collectors, sorters, warehouse staff).
  • Ensure regular compliance audits, inspections, and risk assessments are conducted and reported.
  • Liaise with local authorities, government departments (e.g., EPA, SSWMB, municipal corporations), and environmental consultants to ensure legal alignment and collaboration.
  • Monitor updates in relevant environmental laws, licensing requirements, and industrial standards.
  • Assist in developing traceability systems that align with compliance and reporting expectations.
  • Coordinate training sessions and awareness programs for operational staff on safety, environmental hygiene, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Public Health, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3–5 years of hands-on experience managing environmental compliance and licensing within the waste management, sanitation, or industrial sectors.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Pakistan’s environmental and waste management laws and policies (e.g., PEPA 1997, SEPA Act, SSWMB guidelines).
  • Experience preparing IEE/EIA reports and working with regulatory authorities.
  • Strong understanding of HSE principles and ability to create practical safety management frameworks.
  • Excellent documentation, reporting, and coordination skills.

Preferred

  • Previous experience working with public sector waste utilities or private sector recyclers.
  • Familiarity with ESG frameworks or reporting requirements is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel across urban project sites.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: Rs30,000.00 - Rs70,000.00 per month

Expected hours: 20 per week
