Welder, TIG

Hours Monday-Thursday 4 pm - 2 am

OBJECTIVE/JOB PURPOSE: TIG Welders are experts who use tungsten inert gas welding to fuse metal parts together

This position is more advanced and requires TIG welding experience.

Role and Responsibilities

• Join thin metals of varying compositions by operating specialized hand and power tools
• Operate tools such as arc welders, grinders, and buffing machines
• Responsible for selecting an installing torch tips, filler rods, and flux according to the thickness of metal materials
• Regulate gas flow and pressure by turning gas cylinder gauges or valves

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• 2-3 years on the job training, or vocational school
• Experience TIG welding aluminum, mild steel and stainless steel
• Ability to read blueprints, basic math, metallurgy and a basic understanding of electricity
• Able to pass stringent weld test

Preferred Skills

• Attention to detail and comprehension of blueprints
• Able to assist others, assist in training new employees, set up equipment and troubleshoot
