Yard Laborer

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Yard Laborer to join our team and support the efficient operation of our outdoor work environment. Duties

• Operate various types of heavy equipment including loaders, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and garbage trucks to move recyclable materials and waste products efficiently.
• Assist with the loading and unloading of recyclable materials, solid waste, and hazardous materials in accordance with safety regulations.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, and trucks to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
• Manage recyclable materials handling processes while adhering to environmental regulations and landfill management protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness of the yard by sweeping, picking up debris, and ensuring proper disposal of waste materials.
• Follow all safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, helmets, eye protection, and high-visibility clothing.
• Support landfill management activities by organizing materials for recycling or disposal and ensuring environmental compliance standards are met.

Skills

• Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, and front loader trucks.
• Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic maintenance.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation, hazardous materials handling, and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely in outdoor environments under various weather conditions.
• Knowledge of recyclable materials handling practices and solid waste management procedures.
• Familiarity with landfill operations, environmental compliance standards, and recycling processes.
• Excellent attention to detail for conducting inspections, safety checks, and yard audits.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods while maintaining focus on safety and efficiency.
