About the job:
We are seeking an experienced Channel Sales Leader to drive retail & distributor-led growth across the West Zone. This role focuses on FMCG-style distribution excellence, channel expansion, and retail visibility, ensuring consistent sales delivery and consumer reach for Opella’s consumer healthcare brands.
Main Responsibilities:
People Leadership
  • Lead a team of ~5 Area/Sales Managers spread across Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmedabad.
  • Provide coaching, reviews, and capability building to ensure high performance.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and results orientation.
Business & Channel Management
  • Drive sales through distributor and retail network management.
  • Oversee secondary sales, stock availability, inventory flow, and order fulfillment.
  • Forecast sales requirements and ensure smooth pipeline flow across the zone.
  • Partner with Trade Marketing to execute channel promotions & retail campaigns.
Market Development
  • Expand channel coverage and improve numeric & weighted distribution.
  • Strengthen retail visibility and ensure planogram & merchandising compliance.
  • Monitor competitor activity and provide actionable insights to marketing/sales leadership.
Execution Excellence
  • Conduct regular field visits with team members to track performance and market execution.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical trade practices.
About you:
  • Seeking candidates with experience managing an annual business of ₹250 crores & experience in managing multiple states (preferably Maharashtra, Gujarat, MP, Goa)
  • Graduate, MBA preferred.
  • 12–15 years’ experience in FMCG or Pharma Consumer Healthcare sales.
  • Proven expertise in channel & retail sales management (not HCP/doctor promotion).
  • Strong people manager with experience leading Area/Sales Managers.
  • Strong analytical, forecasting, and distributor management skills.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skils
  • Willingness to travel extensively across zone
