Position Title: Accountant
Department: Finance
Position reports to: Sr. Accounting Manager
Primary purpose and function of position:
The position supports the day-to-day operations of the finance department. Responsibilities include accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and month-end financial close responsibilities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with collection of accounts receivable

Post payments and credit memos to customer accounts

Review accounts receivable aging report, contact delinquent accounts to resolve unpaid balances

Review, code and enter invoices into the accounts payables system; ensure all appropriate documentation and approvals have been received

Review accounts receivable and accounts payable emails, process activity as required

Investigate and resolve customer/supplier/vendor inquiries

Assist with answering incoming calls

Support processing of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls

Perform month-end financial close activities, including preparation and posting of journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations

Assist with cash transactions and monthly bank reconciliations

Download credit card statements, circulate to cardholders and ensure proper support is received for all expenses

Prepare and submit monthly liquor control reports

Prepare monthly invoices for promotions, samples, donations, etc.
- Manage the retention of documents by electronic scanning and filing

Ensure records are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field preferred; High school diploma or GED certificate required

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Proficient computer skills with an emphasis in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Ability to analyze financial data
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
