About the Role
We are Contracting Company in Sharjah seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Accountant with strong expertise in ZOHO Books, bank reconciliation, procurement of building construction materials, and payroll management. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of UAE experience in contracting companies and must be well-versed in UAE VAT & Corporate Tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations in ZOHO Books, including:
- Invoices, billing, accounts payable & receivable
- General ledger entries and reconciliations
- Bank reconciliation
- Prepare and maintain budgets, expense planning, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate UAE VAT & Corporate Tax filing.
- Oversee the procurement process:
- Supplier quotations, purchase orders, and contract negotiations
- Cost control for building construction materials
- Vendor and delivery follow-up
- Manage Payroll & Salaries, including:
- Monthly salary preparation and disbursement
- WPS compliance (Wages Protection System – UAE)
- Employee benefits, end-of-service provisions, and leave settlements
- Track project costs and allocate material & labor expenses accurately.
- Provide management with financial reports, forecasts, and cost control analysis.
- Liaise with auditors, consultants, banks, and government authorities when required.
- Ensure compliance with UAE accounting standards and internal company policies.
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance (BSc minimum).
- Minimum 3 years UAE experience in Contracting/Construction companies.
- Proficiency in ZOHO Books (mandatory).
- Procurement experience (mandatory).
- Strong knowledge of building construction materials (mandatory).
- Hands-on expertise in Bank Reconciliation (mandatory).
- Proven Payroll & Salaries experience (mandatory – including WPS compliance).
- Strong understanding of UAE VAT & Corporate Tax regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools.
- Fluency in English (Arabic is an advantage).
