Job Description

Position Title: Restaurant Accountant – F&B Operations
Department: Finance & Accounts

Location: Muscat, Sultanate of Oman
Industry: Food & Beverage (Fast Food Chain – Multiple Outlets)

Job Purpose

The Restaurant Accountant will be responsible for managing the complete accounting and financial operations of multiple fast-food outlets. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, cost control, compliance with Oman laws, and effective financial support to restaurant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end accounting functions for all restaurant outlets, including AR, AP, GL, and monthly closings.
  • Maintain daily sales reconciliation from POS systems and ensure accuracy of cash, card, and online transactions.
  • Monitor and control food cost, beverage cost, and operational expenses across outlets.
  • Prepare monthly profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and management reports for each outlet and consolidated level.
  • Handle supplier invoices, payments, and vendor reconciliations.
  • Manage payroll accounting, staff benefits, gratuity provisions, and end-of-service calculations.
  • Ensure accurate inventory accounting, stock valuation, wastage analysis, and variance reporting.
  • Coordinate with outlet managers on budgeting, cost control, and financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with Oman Tax Authority regulations, including VAT filings and documentation.
  • Liaise with auditors, banks, and external consultants as required.
  • Maintain proper accounting records in line with company policy and Oman statutory requirements.
  • Support management with financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Supervise and guide accounts staff, if any, within the department.
  • Perform any other accounting or finance-related tasks assigned within the scope of work.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 4–6 years of experience as an accountant in F&B or restaurant operations, preferably in a multi-outlet environment.
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant accounting, cost control, and POS systems.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Tally, ERP, or similar).
  • Good knowledge of VAT and financial regulations in Oman.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and reporting skills.
