Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for managing vendor accounts, processing invoices, and ensuring timely and accurate payments. The role ensures compliance with internal controls and financial policies, supports accurate financial reporting, and contributes to maintaining strong vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:

Receive and review vendor invoices and ensure proper matching with purchase orders and goods received notes through three-way matching.

Record invoices and expenses accurately in the accounting system in accordance with approved classifications.

Reconcile vendor statements periodically and resolve discrepancies or outstanding issues.

Prepare payment schedules and monitor due dates to ensure timely disbursements.

Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and relevant departments to resolve invoice or receiving discrepancies.

Record accruals and prepare necessary adjusting entries prior to month-end closing.

Support month-end and year-end closing procedures and ensure accuracy of accounts payable balances.

Ensure compliance with internal controls and approved disbursement policies.

Maintain proper filing and archiving of vendor-related financial documents.

Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation and explanations.

Contribute to improving accounts payable processes and enhancing efficiency of payment operations.

Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and regulations.

Perform any other duties related to the nature of the role as assigned by finance management to support business needs and operational continuity.
Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

2–5 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and three-way matching procedures.

Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.

Good understanding of internal controls and financial compliance.

Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
