Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Serve as the primary receptionist by answering incoming telephone calls and greeting visitors to the Fair Office, in a courteous, timely, and friendly manner.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Screen callers, answer various inquiries regarding the Kansas State Fair, it’s related activities and functions, and refer callers to the proper party for assistance. Assist visitors as they come into the Kansas State Fair office and connect them with the proper staff member if necessary. Assist in completion of State of Kansas Registration forms, Fair Job Applications, and other forms as needed. This person assists in the coordination of office activities and manage company information in a central location by completing a range of clerical tasks. This job will be carried out with limited supervision, as they will be expected to respond immediately to all calls and visitors to the Fair.
  • Assists with correspondence and other materials for the Kansas State Fair staff. Ensures documents are error free by utilizing spell and grammar check and proofing draft and final documents. The final copy is returned to the originator for signature and/or approval, and then proper distribution is made by the employee. Files incoming and outgoing correspondence as well as work orders in proper files. Limited supervision will be used here to insure that proper procedures are being followed in the filing and establishing of new files.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • Licensing & Certification: State of Kansas Class C Driver’s License Required
