As the Administrative Assistant to the District Nursing Director, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals working to protect the health and well-being of communities across the state by supporting vital public health initiatives. Assists the DND and other clinical coordinators with program and operational support.
Answers calls to the DND’s office and route them appropriately.
Manages the DND’s/department calendars.
Coordinates and schedules appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements.
Organize and schedule meetings.
Record and distribute minutes from meetings.
Assists with the creation, formatting, and distribution of documents.
Facilitates communication between the DND’s office, county health departments, program managers and other internal and external partners.
Develop and maintain a filing system
Maintains files related to protocols and procedures and posts them to the intranet.
Maintains nurse workforce information and maintains nurse credentialing and training records.
Maintain electronic and manual filing systems.
Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
Compile reports on an as needed basis.
Utilizes M&M to manage reports and input data.
Collects and aggregate data from nurse managers, program managers and other partners/stakeholders as requested.
Assists in benchmarking and purchasing efforts.
Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
Manage requests for clinical internships and other related college internship requests.
Assists with contract and MOU renewals.
Participates in emergency preparedness training and response.
Performs additional professional responsibilities as assigned.
Associate degree or higher in a related field from an accredited college or university.
Prior experience working in a public health setting.

The use of physical activity breaks during the workday is authorized to support this philosophy and help employees meet their wellness goals. A maximum of 30 minutes of physical activity may be allocated per workday, typically in the form of two 15-minute breaks or one 30-minute break.

DPH accepts educational credentials recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) as valid. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degrees, diplomas, licensures, and other relevant credentials.
The candidate selected for this position may be subject to pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.
