As part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles we're known for. In our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. What You'll Have…

  • A High School diploma combined with some post-secondary education (e.g., Associate's degree, skilled trades certification).
  • Broad, hands-on experience in a high-volume production or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, resolve diverse problems, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently present to and interface with plant employees, union representatives, and senior management.
  • A proactive, data-driven approach to decision-making and problem-solving.
  • The ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, including flexibility for various shifts and overtime as needed to support production.

Even Better You’ll Have…

  • A Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Previous experience as a Team Manager/Superintendent or in a similar frontline leadership role within the automotive industry.
  • Proven experience working collaboratively in a unionized environment (e.g., UAW).
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with computer systems and manufacturing software.
  • Formal training or certification in lean manufacturing principles (e.g., Six Sigma, TPS, WCM).

What You'll Do…

As a Manufacturing Area Manager, you will be the driving force behind your department's success. As one of four core LL5 level manufacturing leaders, your responsibilities will include:

  • Own Area Performance: Take full ownership of your production area's daily and strategic performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Maintenance, and Environment (SQDCPME).
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Champion the Ford Production System (FPS) on the plant floor. You will teach, coach, and lead your team in using lean tools to eliminate waste, improve efficiency, and implement permanent solutions to complex problems.
  • Develop High-Performing Teams: Lead, mentor, and develop a dedicated team of hourly and salaried employees. You will be responsible for their training, performance management, and career growth, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and engagement.
  • Build Strategic Relationships: Serve as the primary liaison between your team, senior plant leadership, and our UAW partners. You will build and maintain a robust, collaborative, and respectful work environment that aligns with our core company values.
