About the job
We are looking for a high-performing
Area Sales Manager (ASM)
to lead channel strategy, sales execution, and team management for our
Consumer Care – General Trade Division
. If you have strong FMCG experience and a passion for building winning markets, we would love to connect!
Your responsibilities will include:
Sales Planning & Execution
-
Develop and implement sales plans aligned with company strategy to achieve area sales targets.

Manage effective product routing to maximize availability and reduce logistics costs.
-
Ensure all sales activities adhere to allocated budgets and trade marketing guidelines.
Channel & Market Development
-
Expand market growth through management and development of Distributors, Retailers, and Stockists
-
Execute trade promotions and customer engagement schemes to drive business growth
-
Identify and recommend new product opportunities or improvements based on market insights and competitor activity.
Sales Performance Improvement
-
Enhance forecast accuracy and implement Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies.

Improve distributor and field force efficiency through automation and capability building.
-
Support new product launches and promotional activities to strengthen brand positioning.

Plan and implement SKU and Distributor wise - Coverage, Reach and Strike Rate (CRS) norms for the month – using them to achieve brand and product-level sales goals
Market Intelligence & Reporting

Analyse sales data and provide actionable insights to the Regional Sales Manager

Monitor competition and provide feedback for counter-strategies to Regional Sales Manager
Operational Efficiency
-
Ensure stock availability and hygiene across the distribution network.
-
Coordinate with depots for smooth stock movement, hygiene, timely product delivery and claim settlements.
-
Address and resolve damage claims arising during in-transit movement of goods.
Team Leadership
-
Manage and lead a team of Area Sales Executives and Market Reps
-
Train and develop team members to ensure capability enhancement and performance delivery.
What we are looking for?
-
5–7 years of FMCG sales experience, with at least 3-4 years in ASM role in General Trade (CCD)
-
Proven expertise in driving the sales strategies through efficient channel management and sales management for achievement of the sales and distribution targets for the assigned territory.

Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint
-
MBA/PGDM in Marketing, Sales, or Business Management
