Assistant Accountant

The Opportunity
We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to help streamline the financial processess of our expanding hospitality and property management firm. While day-to-day accuracy is essential, we want a candidate who looks beyond the numbers to identify bottlenecks and suggest scalable solutions. Given our diverse portfolio of clients, success in this role requires an agile mindset and a talent for navigating multi-layered financial systems.

Key Duties

• Ledger Oversight: Execute data entry and categorization of all business transactions.
• Portfolio Reconciliation: Balance client-specific accounts and manage inter-company financial tracking.
• Expense Coordination: Oversee billable costs and recording of client-related reimbursements.
• System Improvement: Actively help improve our accounting tech stack and workflow protocols.

Candidate Profile

• Solid foundation in bookkeeping and/or accounting.
• Proficiency in segmented accounting and reporting.
• Experience with cloud-based software like Xero, QuickBooks, Wave or others.
• Exceptional self-management and time-management skills.

Preferred Extras

• Background in Short-Term Rental (STR) or hotel accounting.
• Knowledge of industry tools like Guesty or Hostaway.
• Prior exposure to accounting or project-based finance.
