Position Title: Assistant Manager – Imports

About Us:
Harris Silicones & Glass (Pvt.) Ltd. is Pakistan’s leading manufacturer of silicone sealants and glass processing products, committed to innovation, quality, and excellence. We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Manager Imports to join our Supply Chain team and manage all import-related operations, including trade documentation, LC management, banking, insurance, and customs processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. LC (Letter of Credit) Management

  • Review Proforma Invoices and Sales Contracts for LC accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with banks for LC opening, amendments, and approvals.
  • Prepare complete LC documentation (IB-8 Forms, PSW Sheets, undertakings, covering letters).
  • Review LC drafts and final transmitted copies.

2. Import Documentation & Shipping Coordination

  • Verify shipping documents (CIPL, BL, FTA, COA, COO, and beneficiary certificates).
  • Arrange Marine Insurance Policies and dispatch original documents to clearing agents.
  • Liaise with clearing agents for GD filing, shipment clearance, and documentation flow.

3. Import Payments & Banking Transactions

  • Manage acceptance, FATR, BOE, and import payment processing.
  • Handle PSID payments (duties & taxes) and record all import-related transactions.
  • Prepare and process cheques, RTGS letters, and reconciliation of all import payments.

4. Insurance Coordination

  • Maintain detailed insurance and LC-related cost records.
  • Coordinate with insurance companies for policy issuance, endorsements, and claims.
  • Process insurance premium payments and ensure accurate booking.

5. Freight Forwarding & Costing

  • Obtain freight quotations and prepare comparative statements for cost evaluation.

6. System Recording & Reporting

  • Record all import payments and transactions in Odoo ERP.
  • Maintain filing, scanning, and documentation for import records.

7. Compliance & Support

  • Ensure compliance with all banking, customs, and insurance regulations.
  • Provide import-related documents to the Tax Department when required.

Requirements

  • Education: BBA/MBA in Supply Chain, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in import operations, trade documentation, and LC handling.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of import procedures, LC documentation, and Odoo ERP preferred.
  • Other: Excellent coordination, communication, and record-keeping skills.
