Assistant Manager Infrastructure Planning

Job Purpose:

The purpose of the job is to work mainly on Design and Planning of Data Center infrastructure components like HVAC Units/ Power Systems / Fire Suppression System / DCIM / Switchgear HT & LT Panels requirements etc. The main responsibility will be to look after the planning and design of all data center related components for new and expansion related requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • AutoCAD Proficiency: Developing detailed design layouts and Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) for infrastructure projects.
  • Infrastructure Planning: Strategic planning of infrastructure nodes for nationwide core locations and Data Centers.
  • System Design: Designing and tracking integrated systems, including HVAC, Power (AC/DC), Standby Generators, HT/LT Switchgear, Transformers, and Battery Banks.
  • Full Lifecycle Management: Overseeing the design, planning, and execution of all infrastructure-related projects.
  • Project Controls: Identifying project dependencies and managing the critical path to ensure timely delivery.
  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively managing changes in project scope and developing contingency plans for potential crises.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborating with internal departments and external vendors for seamless project implementation.
  • Site Analysis: Conducting periodic audits of Data Center sites regarding space utilization, HVAC capacity, and power loads.
  • Proactive Expansion: Monitoring performance thresholds and proposing/executing necessary capacity expansions before limits are reached.
  • Safety & Monitoring: Managing Fire Suppression Systems and DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) systems.
  • RFP Development: Preparing Request for Proposals (RFPs) for infrastructure components.
  • Technical Evaluation: Evaluating vendor products and solutions to ensure they meet technical and operational standards.

Eligibility Criteria (Education, Knowledge, Experience and Skills):

Education :

Must have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Telecommunications/Electrical Engineering

certifications like CDCS, CTDC, CTIA would be an added advantage

Work Experience:

Upto 6 years of work experience with 3+ years of infrastructure component design experience in data centers is required

Skills – Job Specific:

Expert in Data Center Component Design Expert in Power Calculations and SLDs preparation Should have strong background of Data Center Component Design Experience and ability to perform complex business case analysis to justify technical design approaches and decisions. Methodical and detailed-oriented with a dedicated work ethics
