What is Assistant Manager Products - MMBL?


The Assistant Manager – Islamic Product supports the development and enhancement of Shariah-compliant banking products by conducting market and regulatory research, ensuring product alignment with Shariah and regulatory requirements, and coordinating product implementation across functions. This role provides insights for product strategy, prepares product documentation, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive successful product rollouts and performance.


What Assistant Manager Products Does?


  • Product Development & Enhancement.
  • Assist in the design, development, and review of Islamic banking products across retail, SME, corporate, and specialized portfolios.
  • Conduct benchmarking and competitive analysis to ensure products are innovative and market relevant.
  • Prepare product documentation including features, pricing structures, Shariah modes of financing, operating procedures, and service offerings.
  • Shariah Compliance - coordinate with the Shariah Compliance team to ensure products are fully compliant with Shariah Board guidelines and SBP/ regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare Shariah briefs and product rationales for internal and external review.
  • Market & Customer Insights - Conduct market and customer needs analysis, and competitor product reviews to identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for product positioning, customer experience, and business growth.
  • Documentation & Governance - Assist to Develop and maintain detailed product manuals, SOPs, pricing guidelines, and customer communication templates.
  • Support internal audits and regulatory reviews by providing product documentation, data, and clarifications.
  • Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support - Work with cross-functional teams including Risk, Legal, Finance, Operations, IT, and Marketing to ensure seamless product implementation and launch.
  • Provide product training and briefings to relationship managers, front-line staff, and internal stakeholders.
  • Performance Monitoring - Monitor product performance, customer feedback, and profitability metrics.
  • Assist in preparing periodic product performance reports and propose enhancements based on data.



What are we looking for and what does it take to be Assistant Manager Products?


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Islamic Banking & Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Preferably a Master’s degree (MBA / Islamic Finance specialization) or related professional certification.
  • Strong understanding of Islamic banking principles, financial products, and Shariah modes of financing.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in Islamic banking, product development, research, or related roles.
  • Experience in product lifecycle management, market research, or strategic analysis is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply Shariah and regulatory guidelines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with data/analytical tools is a plus.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Customer Services & Team building.
  • Convincing, selling And Negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collection management.
  • Fluent in the local language.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of Islamic finance principles and Shariah compliance.
