Assistant Manager Taxation

Looking for AM - Taxation in the Manufacturing Sector - Izmir Town, Lahore

Job Responsibilities:

1. Tax Compliance & Filing

Please make sure that all tax returns are handled, including Income Tax, Sales Tax, and Withholding Tax.

Maintain and update tax records and documentation in accordance with legal requirements.

Review vendor and customer invoices to ensure proper tax deductions and compliance.

Monitor changes in tax laws and advise management on their potential impact.

2. Tax Planning & Advisory

Assist in developing effective tax strategies to optimize tax liabilities within legal frameworks.

Support management in tax planning for new business initiatives or projects.

Evaluate tax implications of various transactions and provide recommendations.

3. Tax Audits & Assessments

Coordinate and represent the company during tax audits and assessments.

Prepare and compile supporting documentation required for tax notices or inquiries.

Draft replies to tax authorities and manage correspondence efficiently.

4. Reconciliation & Reporting

Reconcile tax balances in the general ledger and ensure proper accounting entries.

Prepare monthly and quarterly tax reports for management review.

Support internal and external audit teams with tax-related information and schedules.

5. Coordination & Support

Liaise with external consultants, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.

Collaborate with internal departments (Accounts, Procurement, Sales) for tax-related matters.

Train and guide junior staff in tax compliance and documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Master’s in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or ACCA / ICMA / CA (Part Qualified).

Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in taxation (preferably in a manufacturing setup).

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of Income Tax Ordinance, Sales Tax Act, and Withholding Tax Rules.

Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and tax portals (FBR / PRA / SRB).

Analytical and problem-solving skills.
