Dubai Holding is looking to hire an Associate Director - Implementation reporting to the Executive Director Data & AI . The role holder will be responsible for leading the design, delivery and maintenance of scalable, secure, and high-performance engineering solutions across software development, infrastructure, DevOps, and MLOps domains. The role holder will be accountable to provide technical direction, oversee architecture decisions, and to enable product teams through robust platforms, CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native architectures, and AI/ML operationalization. This role fosters excellence in engineering, agile delivery, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure solutions are seamlessly deployed, user-friendly, secure, and business aligned.

Key Accountabilities:

Software and Full Stack Development:

• Define and own the frontend and full-stack engineering roadmap in alignment with the Data & AI strategy
• Make key architecture decisions in coordination with other IT teams to ensure systems are scalable, performant, and secure
• Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs using modern frameworks
• Build responsive and intuitive front-end interfaces using React, Angular, or similar
• Review code, contribute to development, and resolve complex technical challenges alongside the team

Infrastructure & DevOps:

• Architect and manage cloud infrastructure (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) for high availability and scalability
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps
• Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and security
• Make key architecture decisions in coordination with other IT teams to ensure systems are scalable, performant, and secure

MLOps & Data Engineering:

• Operationalize ML models using containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and model serving frameworks
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to deploy and monitor AI solutions in production
• Ensure solutions are explainable, secure, and optimized for performance
• Apply coding best practices to ensure code quality, maintainability, and scalability

Cross – Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with Product Owners, Data Scientists, and IT Architects to align engineering efforts with business goals
• Translate product requirements into technical roadmaps and delivery plans
• Promote agile methodologies, iterative development, and continuous feedback loops
• Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and team capability building

Team Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and develop frontend and full-stack engineers, fostering a culture of learning and accountability
• Ensure delivery of projects on time, within budget, and aligned with business needs

Who we are looking for:

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years of experience as a people manager or technical lead or team lead

Education / Professional Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related quantitative field
• Advanced degrees preferred

Technical Competencies:

• Proficiency in Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, PL/SQL
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Familiarity with DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, Git)
• Experience with MLOps frameworks (MLflow, Seldon, Kubeflow)
• Strong understanding of data architecture, APIs, and microservices
• Exposure to AI/ML deployment and monitoring
• Experience working in a tech/ product environment is a plus
