Role Overview


The Associate Manager – Analytics is responsible for handling the data analysis and database management for the Commercial team. The role holder is also responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on

the performance of the business/function.


Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


Database Management

• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.

• Work with management to prioritise business and information needs.

• Compile and properly store all the data pertaining to International Merchandising & Sourcing

departments.

• Extract data in response to incoming data requests and ensure consistency and accuracy of data.


Merchandising Data

• Monitor sourcing data to ensure the objectives are achieved, analyse financial impact of price

approach in view of overall history and inform relevant stakeholders.

• Work with management to prioritise business and information needs.

• Develop and review vendors/competitors pricing and provide it to the merchandising and sourcing

teams.

• Monitor specific merchandising and sourcing processes, collect appropriate data and prepare the

relevant reports.


Category Comparison

• Monitor and analyse the sections/department profitability for the pricing strategy.

• Assist strategic planning process with required quantitative and qualitative information.

• Develop database and metrics to conduct comparative studies of all products in stores and products available in the market.


Benchmarking and Reporting

• Conduct benchmarking studies based on the needs of the merchandising and sourcing departments.

• Post relevant data/information to management information systems.

• Prepare periodical reports, analyse the efficiency of the planning and propose areas for improvement.


System Management

• Identify and escalate system failures/problems and seek assistance immediately.

• Implement the policies and procedures for effectively managing information systems.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, (Master’s degree preferred).


Skills

• Strong experience managing e-commerce / Data / digital marketing

• Expert in SQL, Advanced Excel, other scripting languages (R, Python, etc.)

• Strong experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlikview, Datastudio, etc)

• Demonstrated ability to formulate data-driven recommendations that lead to results

• Ability to quickly synthesize, distill and draw conclusions on large amounts of disparate data

• Strong communication and presentation skills

• Strong team player and time management skills

• Strong English language skills (Speaking, Reading and Writing)
