Duties
- Develop comprehensive dance curricula tailored to different age groups and skill levels, incorporating techniques such as ballet, theater dance, and other styles.
- Lead engaging dance classes that motivate students to improve their technique, coordination, and performance skills.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all learners.
- Provide personalized feedback and tutoring to help students overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
- Plan and organize performances or showcases that highlight student progress and celebrate their achievements.
- Incorporate elements of childhood development, early childhood education, and special education strategies into lesson planning for diverse learners.
- Utilize photography skills to document student progress and create promotional materials for classes or events.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in teaching dance or related movement arts with a strong background in ballet, theater, or contemporary styles.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques.
- Experience working with children, preschoolers, or students with special educational needs is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies.
- Ability to foster a positive learning environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.
- Excellent communication skills for working with students of all ages and collaborating with parents or guardians when necessary.
- Additional skills such as sewing for costume design, culinary experience for themed events, or photography are considered nice-to-have extras that can enhance your teaching approach.
