Job Summary: As a Barista at KoCo Cafe & Bakery , you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional coffee and beverage service while complementing our bakery offerings. Your responsibilities will include preparing a variety of coffee drinks, assisting with bakery items, and ensuring a positive customer experience. This role requires a combination of barista skills, culinary interest, and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Beverage Preparation:
• Craft a wide range of coffee and espresso beverages, including lattes, cappuccinos, and specialty drinks, adhering to standard recipes and customer preferences.
• Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment with precision and care.
• Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including tea, smoothies, and seasonal specials.
• Bakery Support:
• Assist with the display and serving of baked goods, pastries, and light meals.
• Maintain knowledge of bakery items, including ingredients and allergens, to assist customers effectively.
• Ensure bakery products are presented attractively and replenished as needed.
• Customer Service:
• Greet customers warmly and take accurate orders, offering recommendations based on customer preferences.
• Provide exceptional service, addressing any inquiries or concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
• Handle customer complaints or issues promptly, escalating to a supervisor if necessary.
• Sales and Cash Handling:
• Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system, including cash, credit, and debit payments.
• Manage cash drawer, ensuring correct change and maintaining accurate records.
• Promote and upsell bakery items and specialty beverages to enhance the customer experience.
• Shop Maintenance:
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and stocked, including the coffee bar, display cases, and dining areas.
• Follow health and safety regulations to ensure the cleanliness and safety of food and beverage preparation.
• Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of coffee machines and equipment.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with other baristas, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay informed about new menu items and procedures.
• Support team members during busy periods and assist with tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience as a barista or in a customer service role is advantageous. Experience in a bakery or café environment is a plus.
• Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge: Basic understanding of coffee and espresso drinks; familiarity with bakery operations is a plus.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Availability: Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
