Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant

Personal Assistant & Bookkeeper
Al the STK & Pizza King / Compass Building Solutions – Wildwood, NJ

We are seeking a dependable, organized Personal Assistant & Bookkeeper to support the owner of two local businesses:

  • Al the STK & Pizza King, a popular Wildwood restaurant
  • Compass Building Solutions, a construction and building services company

This role combines bookkeeping responsibilities with personal and business assistant duties. The ideal candidate is highly organized, trustworthy, flexible, and comfortable managing a variety of tasks in a fast-paced small business environment. Experience with bookkeeping for a construction company is preferred. This is a year-round position, with the busiest period occurring during the summer season and a lighter workload during the winter months.

Bookkeeping Responsibilities

· Managing day-to-day bookkeeping for Al the STK & Pizza King and Compass Building Solutions

· Recording and reconciling financial transactions

· Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable

· Processing invoices and payments

· Credit card and bank reconciliations

· Maintaining organized financial records

· Assisting with payroll preparation and reporting

· Preparing financial summaries for the owner and accountant

· Organizing financial records for tax preparation

Personal Assistant Responsibilities

· Running business and personal errands

· Assisting with administrative tasks for both businesses

· Helping coordinate schedules, appointments, or business tasks

· Handling occasional phone calls or communications

· Assisting with miscellaneous projects and tasks as they arise

· Helping keep business operations organized and running smoothly

Airbnb Property Support (Occasional)

· Coordinating cleaning schedules

· Checking on property needs between guests

· Communicating basic information related to guest stays if needed

Qualifications

· Previous bookkeeping experience required

· Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software preferred

· Strong organizational and time management skills

· Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks

· Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality

· Strong communication and problem-solving skills

· Comfortable working in a small business environment where responsibilities may vary

· Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a team of support professionals assisting the businesses (including management, marketing, and consulting partners)

Schedule

· Year-round position/ FT & PT

· Schedule may vary depending on business needs

· Flexibility for mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends may be required

· The summer season tends to be busier, while winter months are generally lighter

Compensation

· Pay based on experience $20-$25/hour

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • Bookkeeping: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

  • Motor Vehicle License (Preferred)
