Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Administrative Assistant to support our team in various administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and bookkeeping, with proficiency in software such as QuickBooks and Xero with a strong ability to use Word and Excel. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with general ledger accounting and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Perform double entry bookkeeping and prepare journal entries as needed.
  • Support governmental accounting processes and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Utilize QuickBooks for financial reporting and data management.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices.
  • Conduct 10 key typing for data entry tasks with high accuracy.
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline administrative processes and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain organized filing systems for both physical and digital documents.
  • Provide general clerical support, including answering phone calls and managing correspondence.

Skills

  • Proficiency in general ledger accounting and double entry bookkeeping.
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Xero, is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of governmental accounting principles is a plus.
  • Excellent 10 key typing skills with a focus on accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all tasks performed.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour

  • Bookkeeping: 3 years (Preferred)
