Business Development Specialist

Role Purpose

The role holder is responsible for providing business development solutions and technical support to deliver the sector's opportunities target and assume responsibility within the division from inception to closure of those opportunities. The role holder is responsible for partnering with stakeholders and ensuring the execution of opportunities in their division.

Provides guidance to the Implementation Managers on prioritizing activities, solving problems and implementing the appropriate tools, methods and processes upon which to focus and prioritize within their opportunities to maximize output.

Supports the General Manager's planning of opportunities' operational structure down from strategic goals to ensure plans result in manageable operational deliverables for Implementation Managers by determining the technical, financial and legal and other work requirements of the opportunities.

Partners with counterparts within stakeholder organizations to discuss next steps and processes within opportunities, adjusting and aligning plans accordingly to ensure quality and timeliness of outputs.

Consolidates divisional knowledge and provides support to opportunity implementation teams by enabling sharing of knowledge between leaders and the opportunities they manage

Shares expertise, client-related know-how and overall best practices in the program with other divisions and other leadership staff.

Reports to sector and stakeholder leadership on the progress of initiatives and provides feedback to ensure operational alignment with external and strategic program pressures.

Oversees the implementation of technologies, programs, policies and assessments in the division to sustain the demand for oil, aligning market demand for goods and products related to the division with stakeholders' ability to meet demand and grow.

Education

Undergraduate degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferably); Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

Experience

A minimum of 6 years; of experience including project management with a focus on implementation ideally in the sector portfolio.
