CampSPIRE Lead Counselor (Summer Camp Leadership Role)

<Responsibilities>

  • Lead and supervise camper groups, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment aligned with camp goals
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of activities including sports, arts, theater, outdoor adventures, and educational games that promote childhood development and teamwork
  • Manage behavior management strategies to maintain positive discipline and foster respectful interactions among campers
  • Provide first aid when necessary and ensure all health and safety protocols are followed diligently
  • Support junior staff through mentorship, training in classroom management techniques, child care best practices, and camp procedures
  • Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding camper progress or concerns in a professional manner
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements for future sessions

<Qualifications>

  • Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp environments
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies
  • Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Demonstrated ability in classroom management or special education support is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire children of diverse backgrounds
  • Experience in sports coaching, theater arts, or early childhood education is a plus
  • Passion for working with children and fostering their growth through creative activities and positive engagement
