Job Summary:

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Carpet Designer to join our design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing original carpet and rug designs for residential, commercial, or custom applications. This role requires strong aesthetic sensibilities, trend awareness, and technical proficiency in Carpet design.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create original carpet and rug designs based on market trends, client needs, and brand direction.
• Develop artwork using design software (e.g., Booria Carpet Designer, and CAD tools).
• Collaborate with product development teams to ensure designs are technically feasible for manufacturing.
• Choose color palettes, patterns, textures, and materials to align with design concepts.
• Modify existing designs to suit specific client requirements or manufacturing constraints.
• Prepare design specifications, color renderings, and production-ready files.
• Work with vendors and manufacturers to produce samples and ensure quality standards.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in carpet, rug and (experience with tufted or woven carpets a plus).
• Strong portfolio showcasing pattern and surface design.
• Proficiency in design software such as Booria Carpet Designer, and CAD tools.
• Understanding of textile production techniques and materials.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of color and composition.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Hand-knotted design processes.
• Knowledge of sustainable materials and eco-conscious design.
• Experience working directly with carpet manufacturers.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Office or studio-based environment with occasional travel to production sites or client locations.
