Cashier/Customer Service

Key Responsibilities

WEEKENDS ARE A MUST!!!

  • Customer Service: Greet customers, answer questions about products, prices, and store policies, and resolve complaints to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Transaction Handling: Operate cash registers and scanners, collect various forms of payment (cash, credit/debit cards, gift cards), issue correct change and receipts, and process returns/refunds/exchanges.
  • Cash Management: Count money in the cash drawer at the start and end of shifts, report any discrepancies, and follow store policies for cash handling and security.
  • Store Operations: Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, assist with bagging purchases, and help stock and rotate merchandise on shelves during slower periods.
  • Compliance: Enforce legal requirements and store policies regarding sales (e.g., alcohol sales).

Requirements and Skills

  • Experience: Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer-facing role is preferred, along with familiarity with POS systems.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, basic math proficiency, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attributes: A friendly, courteous, and positive attitude is essential, as is the ability to handle pressure in a busy environment.
  • Availability: Flexibility to work holidays and weekends, which are typically busy times for the market.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform light physical tasks like lifting items (up to 40 pounds).

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
