Civil Estimator

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimation Engineer with 5 years of proven experience in cost estimation for engineering and construction projects. The Estimation Engineer will be responsible for analyzing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and supporting tendering activities to ensure competitive and profitable bids. This role requires strong technical knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, suppliers, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project drawings, specifications, and documents to prepare accurate estimates.
• Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost breakdowns, and pricing sheets.
• Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs for civil, mechanical, or electrical works (depending on specialization).
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to support tender submissions.
• Collaborate with design and project teams to align estimates with technical requirements.
• Conduct risk analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering.
• Prepare tender documents, proposals, and bid submissions within deadlines.
• Track and update material prices, labor rates, and market trends to maintain competitive cost data.
• Support project managers in monitoring costs during execution and comparing with estimated budgets.
• Maintain organized documentation of estimates, quotations, and historical project data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Estimation Engineer in construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
• Proficient in estimation and quantity surveying software (e.g., Candy, CostX, PlanSwift) and MS Excel.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills (Optional)

• Experience in specialized sectors such as oil & gas, power plants, or infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of local building codes, standards, and tendering procedures.
• Certification in cost estimation or quantity surveying (RICS, AACE, or equivalent).

Work Environment

• Primarily office-based role with occasional site visits for surveys and verification.
• Fast-paced environment requiring close coordination with design, procurement, and project execution teams.

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED7,500.00 per month
