Position Overview
The Civil Steel & Carpentry Foreman is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and executing all rebar (steel fixing) and formwork/carpentry works on site in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules. The foreman leads labor teams and ensures safe, productive, and high-quality workmanship.
Key ResponsibilitiesSite Supervision & Execution
- Supervise daily steel fixing and formwork/carpentry activities
- Ensure works are executed as per approved IFC drawings, bar bending schedules (BBS), and method statements
- Plan and distribute daily tasks to steel fixers and carpenters
- Monitor productivity and ensure targets are achieved
Technical Responsibilities
- Read and interpret:
- Structural drawings
- Bar bending schedules
- Formwork details and levels
- Check:
- Rebar sizes, spacing, cover, laps, anchorage
- Formwork alignment, dimensions, levels, and stability
- Coordinate concrete casting readiness with engineers and QA/QC
Quality Control
- Ensure compliance with:
- Project specifications
- Consultant/client quality requirements
- Rectify non-conforming works immediately
- Support inspections with consultant / client / QAQC team
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Enforce HSE rules and site safety procedures
- Ensure workers use proper PPE
- Conduct toolbox talks when required
- Report unsafe conditions and incidents immediately
Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with:
- Site engineers
- QA/QC inspectors
- Safety officers
- Other trades
- Report daily progress to the Site Engineer / Construction Manager
- Assist in manpower planning and material requests
Material & Tools Management
- Request steel, formwork materials, and consumables in advance
- Ensure proper storage and minimal wastage of materials
- Monitor tools and equipment used by the team
Required Skills & QualificationsExperience
- 5–10 years experience as Steel / Carpentry Foreman in civil construction
- Strong background in:
- RCC buildings
- Villas
- Towers / podiums / infrastructure (preferred)
Technical Knowledge
- Excellent knowledge of:
- Reinforcement works
- Formwork systems (traditional & system formwork)
- Concrete casting procedures
- Familiar with UAE construction standards and site practices
Leadership Skills
- Ability to manage 20–50 workers
- Strong discipline and team control
- Good communication with engineers and workers
Language Skills
- English: Basic to good (site communication)
- Hindi / Urdu: A Must
- Arabic: Advantage (not mandatory)
Physical Requirements
- Physically fit for site conditions
- Willing to work long hours and under pressure

- Reports to Site Engineer / Construction Manager
