Job Summary
The Civil Supervisor (PTW) is responsible for supervising site civil activities under the Permit to Work (PTW) system, ensuring all works are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved permits, project specifications, and Qatar regulations. The role focuses on coordinating with the HSE team, engineers, and authorities to ensure proper permit control and safe execution of site activities.
Key Responsibilities1. Permit to Work (PTW) Control
- Ensure all civil works are carried out under valid and approved PTW.
- Coordinate with permit authorities such as Ashghal, Kahramaa, municipalities, or client representatives.
- Verify that work conditions comply with permit requirements before starting activities.
- Suspend work if PTW conditions are not met or safety violations occur.
- Maintain proper PTW documentation and records on site.
2. Site Supervision
- Supervise daily civil works including excavation, backfilling, concreting, drainage, road works, utilities, and structural activities.
- Ensure work is performed according to approved drawings, method statements, and project specifications.
- Monitor subcontractors and workers to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained.
- Check levels, alignment, and measurements before and during execution.
3. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Ensure compliance with Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) and company HSE policies.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Coordinate with safety officers for inspections and audits.
- Identify hazards and implement control measures.
- Ensure proper barricading, signage, and traffic management where required.
4. Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with civil engineers, surveyors, safety officers, and other disciplines.
- Attend daily site coordination meetings.
- Communicate work progress and site issues to management.
- Liaise with consultants and client inspectors for inspections and approvals.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily activity reports and manpower reports.
- Record material usage and equipment deployment.
- Maintain inspection records and work completion documentation.
- Assist in preparing work progress updates.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5–10 years of site supervision experience.
- Experience working under PTW systems in Qatar (mandatory).
- Strong knowledge of QCS and local authority procedures.
- Familiarity with infrastructure, utilities, or Oil & Gas projects.
- Valid QID with transferable visa preferred.
