Clinical Operations Head

Position Title: Clinical Operations Head
Department: Clinical Services
Reports To: Medical Director

Job Purpose:

To oversee, manage, and improve all clinical operations of the hospital, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, efficient workflows, and coordination between clinical and administrative teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise all clinical departments (Nursing, OT, ICU, Ward, Emergency, Diagnostics, etc.) for smooth daily operations.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, NABH standards, and clinical protocols.
• Improve patient care quality, safety, and service delivery across all units.
• Monitor staff performance, duty rosters, attendance, training, and discipline.
• Coordinate with doctors, nursing heads, and department managers for operational issue resolution.
• Analyse patient flow, bed occupancy, TAT, and clinical KPIs; implement improvements.
• Conduct daily clinical rounds and address operational gaps.
• Ensure availability and maintenance of medical equipment, instruments, and critical consumables.
• Handle escalations related to patient experience and clinical service issues.
• Lead emergency preparedness, infection control compliance, and patient safety initiatives.
• Monitor documentation, medical records, incident reports, and audit compliance.
• Support HR in recruitment, competency evaluation, and training of clinical staff.
• Drive cost control, resource optimization, and operational efficiency.
• Prepare operational reports for management and participate in strategic planning.

Key Skills Required:

• Strong clinical knowledge and hospital operations management experience
• Excellent communication, leadership & team-handling skills
• Problem-solving and decision-making ability
• Knowledge of NABH, biomedical processes, and patient safety standards
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multi-department operations

Qualification & Experience:

• MBBS, MHA healthcare qualification
• 8–15 years of hospital experience; minimum 4–5 years in a leadership/operations role

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
