Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will be essential in delivering high-quality parts efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining technology, contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives, and develop your technical skills in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Set up and operate CNC machinery such as CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring optimal performance and precision.
- Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM programming software to produce complex parts accurately.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure proper machining processes.
- Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment, troubleshoot issues, and make adjustments to maintain quality standards.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, tooling, and welding equipment for assembly or minor repairs as needed.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while working with electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding components, or other manufacturing processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing practices to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with Fanuc controls or similar systems. (preferred 2+ years experience)
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming techniques and CAM programming software.
- Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings accurately; understanding of GD&T principles is essential.
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes including plastics injection molding and welding.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Basic math skills for calculating measurements, tolerances, and machine adjustments.
- Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus.
- Knowledge of tooling setup, calibration procedures, and machine troubleshooting.
- Ability to work safely with hand tools, power tools, forklifts (certification preferred), and other manufacturing equipment.
- Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills; a proactive team player committed to quality excellence.
