Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce precision parts that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and machining processes will be essential in delivering high-quality components efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing technology, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and develop your technical skills in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Set up and operate CNC machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Program CNC equipment using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software, including Fanuc controls, to produce complex parts accurately.
  • Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications to ensure precise machining.
  • Use precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions.
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for each job, ensuring proper alignment and secure setup.
  • Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Assist in assembly processes when necessary, utilizing hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and plastics injection molding techniques.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work orders, inspection reports, and machine logs for quality control purposes.

Skills

  • Proficiency in CNC programming and operation with experience using CAM software for toolpath generation.
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading combined with GD&T for precise machining requirements.
  • Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes for complex or hard materials.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a solid grasp of manufacturing principles, tooling selection, and machine maintenance.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMMs confidently.
  • Familiarity with CNC controls like Fanuc or similar systems for effective machine operation.
  • Experience working with CNC milling machines and CNC lathes in a manufacturing setting.
  • Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and feed rates accurately.
  • Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and assembly procedures.
  • Knowledge of plastics injection molding processes is a plus for versatile manufacturing tasks.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts safely when required.
  • Commitment to lean manufacturing practices aimed at continuous improvement and waste reduction. Join our team as a CNC Machinist if you're passionate about precision engineering and eager to advance your skills in a supportive environment dedicated to quality excellence!
