Job Summary
The Construction Scheduler (Primavera P6) is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules for structural steel, steel fabrication, warehouse structures, canopies, cladding, ACP, parking shades, and miscellaneous steel projects. The role ensures projects are executed on time by coordinating with engineering, procurement, fabrication, logistics, QA/QC, and site teams while providing accurate progress updates and recovery plans.
Key Responsibilities: Project Scheduling
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Prepare baseline schedules, look-ahead schedules, and recovery schedules.
- Establish project activities, sequencing, durations, and resource loading.
- Monitor schedule performance and identify critical path activities.
- Update project schedules based on site progress and fabrication status.
Planning & Progress Monitoring
- Track engineering, procurement, fabrication, delivery, and site installation progress.
- Monitor project milestones and recommend corrective actions for delays.
- Perform schedule analysis and highlight critical activities affecting project completion.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress updates for management and clients.
- Analyze schedule variances and propose mitigation plans.
Coordination
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, production, procurement, engineering, QA/QC, and logistics teams.
- Ensure engineering deliverables align with fabrication and site execution schedules.
- Coordinate material availability and delivery plans with procurement and stores.
- Monitor fabrication progress and ensure alignment with project timelines.
- Support project teams in achieving contractual milestones.
Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly planning reports.
- Generate S-Curves, manpower histograms, progress curves, and KPI reports.
- Maintain project dashboards and schedule performance reports.
- Present planning updates during internal and client progress meetings.
- Prepare delay analysis and recovery reports when required.
Resource Planning
- Assist in manpower and equipment planning.
- Monitor resource utilization and productivity.
- Support workload balancing across fabrication and site teams.
- Coordinate with workshop and site teams to optimize resource allocation.
Risk & Change Management
- Identify schedule risks and recommend preventive actions.
- Evaluate the impact of design changes, variations, and delays on project schedules.
- Support extension of time (EOT) assessments with schedule analysis.
- Maintain change logs and schedule revisions.
Documentation
- Maintain updated project schedules and planning documentation.
- Ensure proper version control for all planning files.
- Archive baseline schedules, updates, and progress records.
- Support project close-out documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- 4–8 years of experience in construction planning and scheduling.
- Experience in structural steel, steel fabrication, warehouse structures, cladding, canopies, or industrial construction is preferred.
- GCC/UAE or Saudi Arabia experience is an advantage.
