Key Responsibilities
- Site Management: Direct daily construction activities, including scheduling workers and managing subcontractors.
- Quality & Safety Control: Enforce health and safety regulations, conduct risk assessments, and ensure work adheres to blueprints, building codes, and quality standards.
- Resource Coordination: Monitor material usage, manage inventory, and ensure equipment is in proper working condition.
- Technical Oversight: Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and structural, mechanical, or electrical plans.
- Progress Reporting: Document site activities, prepare daily reports, and communicate project status to project managers.
- Problem Resolution: Resolve on-site issues, such as delays, material shortages, or safety hazards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience as a construction supervisor, site foreman, or similar role.
- Education: Typically a diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or relevant technical field.
- Leadership: Ability to manage, motivate, and direct crew members.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication for coordinating with diverse teams, engineers, and clients.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to read blueprints and proficiency in, or ability to learn, project management software (e.g., AutoCAD).
Typical Working Conditions
- Full-time, often requiring long hours.
- Work occurs on-site in varying, sometimes harsh, weather conditions.
- Requires physical presence to conduct site walk-throughs and inspections.
